Flash Jewellery

~ Humble Beginnings ~

Flash Jewellery founder and designer Nina Flash Gordon first began crafting metal from the young age of 15 with her father in his car parts garage. Nina went on to study silversmithing and work within the metal design industry and Flash organically evolved as a creative outlet combining her interests in both metal and fashion.

~ Our Jewellery & Values ~

All Flash Jewellery is handmade in small batches. We work directly with a community of traditional artisans in India and every piece made, supports them, their families, and helps contribute to their collective. We pay in USD which ensures fair pay and all jewellery is made in safe, fair, clean working conditions.

We use high-quality brass and sterling silver and plate our jewellery in a thick coat of 18k gold with a minimum thickness of 2.5 microns - thick according to industry standards. We also never use nickel in the plating process.

Fresh brass is used for casting every time, leftover scrap is collected by the casting unit, it's melted & purified and resold to be reused.

Sterling silver scrap is also recycled, it's collected & purified to make its purity to 99.50 % & reused again for our jewellery.

Back in Australia and New Zealand.. We are minimising all plastic, we have recently changed our packaging to be made of cardboard and to exclude the plastic foam insert from our boxes, we have also added a reusable pouch. We no longer use polythene courier bags & bubble wrap.

Our Byron Bay studio is solar powered and we are continuously working to improve our practices.
